Guide to Winnebago Minnesota

Winnebago is a city in Faribault County, Minnesota. U.S. Route 169 and Minnesota State Highway 109 are two of the main routes in the city. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.27 square miles (5.7 km²), all of it land. The elevation is 1,112 ft (339 m) above sea level.

WINNEBAGO Township, settled in June 1855, organized in October 1858, was then named Winnebago City, after the village of this name that was founded here by Andrew C. Dunn and others in September 1856. The townsite, in Winnebago City and Verona Townships, was platted in January 1857 and incorporated on February 19, 1857, being named for the Winnebago Indians, whose reservation during the years 1855 to 1863 was in the adjoining Blue Earth County. It was named "City" for discrimination from the Winnebago Agency near Mankato, but this part of the name was discontinued in 1905. The town became a village on March 8, 1873, was reincorporated on July 8, 1907, and was separated from the townships on May 17, 1918. The post office was first called Winnebago City, 1857-1905, when it was changed to the present name. The village had a station of the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railroad.

The pool includes a diving board, waterslide, wading pool, concession stand, pop vending machine, picnic tables and additional shaded seating.
