Police Logs 

A driver's side rear window was broken sometime between Friday and Saturday morning on a 2005 Mercedes parking in the backyard. Police have no suspects and have not determined the value of the window.

A male dressed in camouflage exited a vehicle with a rifle and walked into nearby woods. Police searched the area and did not find any blood trail or shell casings, but did find deer and human foot prints near railroad tracks.

Cedar Mountain voters to decide operating levy rate Nov. 6 

Cedar Mountain School District voters will determine the fate of a $790 per pupil unit operating levy increase on General Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6. If approved, the 10-year operating levy will generate about $400,000 in new revenue and would take effect for the 2019-2020 school year. Like many Minnesota school districts, Cedar Mountain continues to encounter school funding streams that have not kept up with the costs of running a school including maintaining programs, opportunities and services - such as class size, curriculum and course offerings - or have disappeared, Cedar Mountain Superintendant Robert Tews wrote in his school district column.

Remember When" show to benefit Sibley County Act on Alzheimer's 

"Remember When - American Top 40 - The Hits from the 60s and 70s, Groovy Tunes and Far Out Stories from the 60s and 70s," Social hour begins at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. is a tribute to the hit songs and iconic artists of the 50s, 60s and 70s, woven with riveting back-stories, relatable and hysterical husband-wife banter, Donna dramatically interpreting the songs with Performance Sign Language, and the audience gets to sing along. "It is so much fun - entertaining, interactive, with great music, stories, comedy, segments like 'Name That Tune' with groovy love beads as prizes - and I'm interpreting the songs in Performance Sign Language.
