Marie Dyk 

Marie Irene Dyk was born on Dec. 18, 1931 to Hubert and Grace Vander Lugt on a farm in Rock County. She attended the Leota Christian School, Edgerton Christian School, and her last two years of high school at Western Christian School in Hull, Iowa, from which she graduated in 1950.

National Guard announces Luverne site for new Armory | Pipestone County Star

Luverne will be the site of a new National Guard Armory preparedness center that will serve a consolidated Luverne and Pipestone unit.

Pipestone Armory future undecided 

Now that the Minnesota Army National Guard is focused on building a new Armory in Luverne for a consolidated Luverne and Pipestone unit , the future of Pipestone's Armory remains uncertain. The 1950's Pipestone building, officially referred to as a Readiness Center, underwent a year-long, $2.4 million renovation that was completed in 2014 and included new bathrooms, locker rooms, classrooms, office area and entryway, as well as energy efficient upgrades, code upgrades, updated landscaping and a new fenced-in lot.

Private donor turns National Guard's head toward Luverne | Pipestone County Star 

A private donor has expressed interest in making a significant contribution to the consolidated armory for Pipestone and Luverne if the facility is constructed in Luverne. That interest has created a "very unique situation," and caused the Minnesota Army National Guard to consider a location for the new facility at least two decades earlier than it had originally planned, according to Major Robert Walquist, planning and programming branch chief for MN ARNG) facilities and management office, by phone last week.

County adjusts state aid road designations | Pipestone County Star 

This map shows the roads the county will remove from and add to its county state aid highway system. The county board revoked CSAH designation from a five-mile section of CSAH 7 from state Highway 23 to CSAH 18 in Grange and Rock townships, and a three-mile section of CSAH 8 from CSAH 15 to U.S. Highway 75 in Troy Township.
