Pierz man faces drug charges following traffic stop 

A 51-year-old Pierz man was charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop Wednesday in Little Falls. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reports a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Cadillac Escalade at 4:26 p.m., after observing a traffic violation.

Driver suffers medical issue, sends car into guardrail 

A 60-year-old Pequot Lakes man died after suffering medical issues while driving Wednesday and crashing his vehicle. The Minnesota State Patrol reported Thomas H. Ustruck was traveling south on Highway 10 in Morrison County.

The Crosby-Ironton Courier reported Linda Peterson was selected to fill the seat, opened when Debby Leonard resigned over concerns about a police officer hiring. Peterson was selected over another candidate because of her experience in accounting and human resources, the Courier reported.
