Crime and Accidents for July 20 

An incident reported at 7:07 a.m. Thursday on East Vermillion Street is under investigation, the Lyon County Sheriff's Department said. TRACY - An alcohol-related incident was reported at 1:15 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Fourth Street and Craig Avenue, Tracy Police said.

Repairs coming for storm-damaged roads in Lyon County, highway engineer says 

Repairs are still underway on Lyon County roads, two weeks after severe rains caused washouts and other damage around the county. County Highway Engineer Aaron VanMoer said crews will be working on two roads that have been closed after culverts washed away.

Assessing the damage 

Along with several other area towns, Tracy is still cleaning up after the flood resulting from the record-breaking, heavy rains July 2-3. Twenty-five locations of city-owned infrastructure had some sort of damage, with a rough estimate of $250,000 required in repairs, Tracy City Administrator Kris Ambuehl said Monday.

A nightmare' 

Tuesday's weather event dumped several inches of rain on southwest Minnesota. While some of the most severe damage was reported in communities like Tracy, the effects of the rain were felt in Marshall and across Lyon County.

Lyon County issues disaster declaration for flooding 

Lyon County has issued a disaster declaration for flooding affecting area communities and residents. Lyon County Emergency Manager Tammy VanOverbeke said heavy rains last night and early this morning caused serious flooding in cities including Tracy, and on a number of county roads.

Crime and Accidents for July 3 

A 19-year-old male was cited for underage drinking and driving at 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the 300 block of Seventh Street, the Lyon County Sheriff's Department said. MARSHALL - A 32-year-old male was cited for no Minnesota driver's license in an incident reported at 9:22 a.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of East College Drive, Marshall Police said.

Short Takes 

The Marshall City Council on Tuesday approved funding for two worthwhile community projects. A total of $30,000 was approved for the veterans memorial being built at Memorial Park and $25,000 was approved for a project to upgrade the Lyon County Museum.

Crime for June 27 

A 30-year-old female was cited for an instruction permit violation in a traffic incident reported at 4:19 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Fourth Street and Lynd Street, Marshall Police said. MARSHALL - A 19-year-old male was cited for having expired vehicle registration tabs in a traffic incident reported at 11:24 p.m. Monday at the intersection of College Drive and Park Avenue, Marshall Police said.
