Storms Cause Damage in Southern Minnesota 

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Dakota, Goodhue and Rice Counties until 7:30 p.m. and for Dodge County until 7:15 p.m. Damage was being reported in the Waterville area. A KSTP crew reported power was out there.

Many Minnesotans must make Medicare switch - and it will cost them 

An estimated 320,000 Minnesotans with Medicare Cost plans will see them soon disappear and are facing choices as they search for replacement plans. Robin Thompson, with the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging and supervisor of the Senior LinkAge Line in southwest Minnesota, said having that many people searching for new plans in the next few months is going to cause some stress and confusion and stretch the LinkAge Line staff.

Around 90 Again Sunday - Big Change By Mid-Week 

Several strong storms moved across parts of northern Minnesota Friday evening. Some of these storms did produce large hail, with 2" in diameter hail reported in Twin Valley and 1.75" hail near Wilton and Ironton .

Minneapolis meth seizure is largest in state history 

More than 170 pounds of methamphetamine was seized in Minneapolis by police and federal agents this week in what is believed to be the biggest single meth bust in state history. After months of surveillance, authorities entered a home in the 3600 block of Dupont Avenue N. on Tuesday to find nearly 40 packages containing about 4.5 pounds each of methamphetamine, as well as a sawed-off shotgun, 1.1 ounces of tar heroin and several thousand dollars in cash, according to a report released Friday by the Cannon River Drug and Violent Offender Task Force.
