Five injured in Douglas County crash Friday, August 31 

The crash happened around 11:20 a.m., west of Osakis at the intersection of County Road 82 East and Smith Lake Road. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says one driver, 23-year-old Kelsey Bender of Osakis, told deputies that she was driving west on 82 when a compact car, driven by 75-year-old John Host of Browerville, turned in front of her.

Toddler airlifted to hospital after being run over by vehicle in central Minnesota 

A 23-month-old girl was run over by a driver maneuvering into a parking stall at Chippewa Park near Brandon, Minn., Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported. The toddler, whose name was not immediately released by police, was airlifted to Children's Hospital in the Twin Cities.

2 Found Guilty in Douglas Co. Pipeline Protest Case 

A jury has found two people guilty of disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer following a protest at Enbridge Energy's Line 3 construction site in Douglas County last summer. Wisconsin Public Radio reports that 24-year-old Alexander Emery Good-Cane-Milk of South Dakota and 26-year-old Kyla L. Hassig of Cloquet, Minnesota, were also found guilty of trespassing on the site where Enbridge was working to replace a 12.5-mile segment of its 1960s-era oil pipeline in Wisconsin.
