$11,000 Youth Hockey funds stolen 

The Kasson Police Department continues to investigate the theft of $11,000 in pull-tab money that was stolen from Events in Kasson on July 29. The restaurant carries pull-tabs that benefit the Dodge County Youth Hockey association. According to the police report, officers were dispatched to Events at 12:59 a.m. on July 29 in response to a commercial burglary alarm.

Five pounds of meth recovered in Dodge County 

Two Dodge County men have been charged with first degree drug possession after a Dodge County Investigator received a tip from a Drug Enforcement Agency Agent. According to the criminal complaint, a DEA agent contacted a Dodge County Investigator on Oct. 11, saying that a large quantity of methamphetamine was being shipped out of Kasson to be sold in Minneapolis.

K-M School training exercise 

The Kasson-Mantorville School District, in cooperation with the Kasson Police Department, Dodge County Sheriff's Office, Dodge County First Responders, Dodge County Fire Department, Dodge County Public Health and other agencies, will conduct a training exercise from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. During the training exercise, the District and all emergency responding entities will be conducting a simulation at K-M High School that will involve a significant police presence during the morning. The high school will be completely inaccessible during the training to anyone not directly participating in the simulation.

Video: Minn. lawmaker rips microphone out of challenger's hand at debate 

A Minnesota state lawmaker is making national headlines after a video clip showing him ripping a microphone away from his challenger and then lobbing it back toward her during a Rochester event spread online. The incident occurred Monday during a legislative forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government.

Two-vehicle collision in Dodge County Saturday evening 

The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened around 7:14 pm Saturday at the intersection of Highway 14 and 270th Avenue. Sierra Marie Gustafson, 19 of Kasson, was driving south and Jesse Mark Bigelow, 37 of Rochester, was driving west when they crashed into each other.

Dodge County Officials Shut Down Large Marijuana Grow Operation 

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, the operation was on DNR Wildlife Management Land located west of Mantorville on 617 St. and 220 Ave. Officials noted those involved with the operation damaged DNR property and illegally removed trees in order to grow the marijuana.

A self-proclaimed "hoax artist" placed a fake classified ad in the Post Bulletin, claiming to have found a diamond scepter and inauguration gown that belonged to Eva Peron! This will heal you.
