Fillmore County Board Declares State of Emergency 

Tuesday afternoon, the Fillmore County Board of Commissioners declared a state of emergency because of damage from the flooding over the weekend. Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase said all townships and cities were hit pretty hard.

Southeastern Minnesota's heavy rainfall washes away roads 

Heavy rain fall swept throughout areas of Southeastern Minnesota Saturday afternoon into the night, causing flash flooding in Fillmore County. According to the Fillmore County Sheriff, Tom Kaase, some residents reported as much as 8 inches of total rainfall Saturday night.

Sheriff: County Roads Washed Out, Fields Flooded 

Off of county road five just south of Wykoff, creeks are popping up where there should be fields. While the water has gone down significantly since Saturday's storms, fields are still underwater and areas have been carved out by the flooding.

THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH AND WILL BE NEAR ALMA WISCONSIN TO WINONA AND LANESBORO AFTER 730 AM. THE STRONGER OF THE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS, GUSTY WINDS AND 1/2 INCH DIAMETER HAIL.

Heard on the Street: Lewiston bank to merge with MinnWest 

Security State Bank of Lewiston , owned by the Fischer family, announced last week the signing of an agreement to merge with Minnwest Bank. The deal is contingent on regulatory approval.
