The Spring Home Expo and the Outdoor Living Expo. are coming to the Willmar Civic Center Friday April 6th from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Saturday April 7th from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Willmar January support group for families 

NAMI Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.

South Dakota is still worth the pheasant hunt

Eric Morken / Forum News Service Bird numbers were down 45 percent from 2016, according to the annual survey from the Game, Fish and Parks Department. Habitat loss and drought conditions during the nesting season, when chicks rely on insects and lush cover to survive, were blamed.

Inmate dies at Kandiyohi County Jail 

Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said correctional officers were conducting checks of the inmates when they discovered the man shortly before 1:30 p.m. He was not breathing so correctional officers immediately began lifesaving measures, Hartog said. The Willmar Ambulance Service also was called but paramedics were unable to revive the inmate.

Atwater community mourns loss of 'old school' police chief 

The community of Atwater is mourning the loss of a man who was very much the quintessential small-town police chief. Schmidt, former chief of police in Atwater, died Dec. 27 at his home in Atwater at the age of 67. He had been diagnosed with a brain cancer in March 2017.
