Metal melter sparks hot debate in Oronoco Township 

The people of Oronoco - the city and the township - are keeping their eyes on an automotive salvage business, claiming the new owners have started a metal melting business that brings noise and air and water pollution to the city. On Tuesday, those concerns came back to the Oronoco Township Board, which is working with the city of Oronoco to find answers and make sure the local residents are protected.

New antiques store open for business near Wells 

If your passion is hunting for buried treasures, there happens to be a new antique shop in Faribault County that may have something just for you. Open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Antiques of the Midwest is located on the outskirts of Wells.

The Top 10 Stories of 2017 in Faribault County 

The rumors starting to circulate around Blue Earth right after a banner sign went up on the Walmart building in early September that read "Store Closing." Then came the official announcement that the store, which had been a fixture in the Blue Earth business community for 30 years, was indeed going to close.

Blue Earth weighs development contract 

The council this week discussed a proposed contract for CEDA to provide Economic Development Authority services on a contract basis for Blue Earth, beginning in January. CEDA would take the place of the Faribault County Development Corporation.
