Wells residents not happy 

These were the literal outcries of some Wells community members directed towards the representatives of the Minnesota Department of Corrections who were present last Monday, July 2, at 6 p.m. in the Wells Community building for a sex offender notification meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to not only inform the community, but to let them know that they, too, are now a part of this offender's monitoring.

Wells deals with 3 properties 

One more step in the process of creating a possible new housing development in the city of Wells took place at the meeting. After holding a one-minute long public hearing, the council voted unanimously to accept a revised plat map of the area for the housing addition the former USC School location.

County law enforcement aims to protect and serve 

With a staff of roughly 50 employees, the Faribault County Sheriff's Department has the responsibility of ensuring the safety of all the county's citizens. One of the main duties of the sheriff's department includes working in conjunction with full time police departments in Blue Earth, Elmore, Winnebago, Wells and Minnesota Lake.

Failure to wear seat belt while in a motor vehicle - Conrad Bester, 38, of Ledyard, Iowa; Patrick A. Murphy, 56, of Blue Earth; each fined $110. Ravindra A. Hollman, 37, of Blue Earth was convicted of giving peace officer false name/birthdate/ID card; fined $285.
