North Shore businesses employing new strategies to find workers 

At the Bluefin Bay family of resorts in Tofte, Minn., workers racked up a record 18,000 hours of overtime last year. Bad as it was, he expects this year will only get worse.

North Shore ski trail will allow fat-biking on trial basis 

Fat-bike riders compete in the 2017 Norpine Fat Bike Classic race last January on the Norpine ski trails near Lutsen. The Norpine Trail Association will allow fat-biking on a segment of its trails this winter on a trial basis.

Minnesota church locks its doors during services after threats 

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after threatening notes against a pastor and his family were left at a Tofte church in recent months. Zoar Lutheran Church on Lake Superior's North Shore received its first threatening note Oct. 3. The second came soon after.

PR-B grads busy fighting western wildfires 

Firefighting is a year-long career for a brother and sister who graduated from Pine River-Backus High School, and they sought out wildfires this year that blazed in various parts of the country.
