Indus students participate in Young Authors' Conference 

Indus School seventh and eighth graders joined over 400 other students March 8 at the annual Young Authors' Conference in Thief River Falls. The event took place at Northland Community and Technical College, where many authors and illustrators converged to present breakout sessions on everything from "How to Create Animal and Human Cartoon Characters with Personality," to "Writing a Movie Scene."

Man accused of mailing meth to northwest Minn's woman workplace, which opened package 

A Vancouver, Wash., man has been accused mailing meth to a northwest Minnesota woman who received the package at her workplace where it was opened. Robert Eugene Hostnick, 51, who faces up to 30 years in prison, appeared Thursday in Pennington County District Court in Thief River Falls on a first-degree felony charge of a controlled substance crime.
