Dean Foods to close Thief River Falls milk plant, lay off 52 workers 

Dean Foods is closing its milk processing plant in Thief River Falls and is laying off 52 workers as a result. The plant, which also processes milk for Land O'Lakes, will close by Oct. 15, according to a notice filed Tuesday by Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Fire destroys semi near Thief River Falls 

A semi truck is a total loss after it caught fire near Thief River Falls on Monday, May 28. Thief River Falls Fire Department officials said crews responded to Thygeson's Construction just after 11:30 a.m. for a reported semi-truck fire. When crews got there, they found the semi fully ablaze with the tires of the trailer on fire, as well.
