Stewartville Man Found Without Clothing After Rolling Vehicle 

Olmsted County Deputies said a Stewartville man was found without his clothes on after rolling his pickup truck Saturday night. According to Captain Scott Behrns, 25-year-old Paul Engel was traveling on the 4000 block of County Road 140 SE around 7:30 p.m. on April 21, when he allegedly swerved, went into the ditch and rolled an unknown number of times.

Man rolls truck, refuses DWI tests 

Paul Dominic Engel, 25, of Stewartville, may be charged with third-degree DWI and second-degree DWI refusal, both gross misdemeanors, said Olmsted County Sheriff's Capt. Scott Behrns.

Stewartville man convicted for slapping girl 

A Stewartville man was sentenced to two years of probation for slapping a girl because he didn't like the way she looked at him. Seth James Prokasky, 38, was convicted of one count of malicious punishment of a child, a gross misdemeanor, in Olmsted County District Court on Monday.

Attempted murder trial delayed in Olmsted County 

Gerardo Berenice Esquivel-Olveda, 23 of Stewartville, is accused of shooting Kameron Jones on August 15, 2017. Esquivel-Olveda has pleaded not guilty to 2nd degree attempted murder, drive-by shooting, and 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Woman facing numerous charges after deadly crash in southern MN 

A woman accused of driving a car that ran a stop sign that killed a woman and injured another is facing multiple charges. Sarah Sexton, of Stewartville, is facing the following charges in connection to a crash Oct. 17, 2017, that killed Joan Hodge and injured Duane Hodge.

Stewartville council approves aid for pair of businesses 

A pair of public hearings during Tuesday's Stewartville City Council meeting yielded approval on two business projects that will bring more than 60 jobs and aid economic development in the city. The first hearing, which drew a few questions from the crowd on the overall wisdom of tax abatement, concerned a proposed tax increment finance district for Sprouts Childcare & Early Education Center.

VFW Post hopes to rebuild after fire 

Stewartville firefighters turned out to support the Spring Valley VFD during the fire that broke out at Johnny Ringo's on Oct. 9. The Spring Valley VFW Post 4114, which was the bar's neighbor, is no longer able to meet in their space caused by smoke and water damage. Authorities say drunken man had two kids in car 

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says a Rochester man who ended up in a ditch Thursday night - with two young children in the car - was driving drunk. The man allegedly told police he was returning home from visiting relatives in Cresco, Iowa, when he went into the ditch because he was "trying to show off to the kids," according to Olmsted County Sheriff's Capt.

Search warrant turns up 95 grams of cocaine 

Rochester police say a search warrant they executed at a Northwest Rochester home on Tuesday morning turned up a "considerable" amount of cocaine. Officers say they found 95 grams of cocaine and 40 grams of marijuana at the home, 4722 14th Ave. NW, as well as a 34-year-old woman and an infant, according to Rochester Police Capt.
