Police discover meth in Stewartville man's car 

Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Rochester police stopped 29-year-old Cory Christopher Meredith in the 700 block of West Center Street after an officer in an unmarked squad car saw the man run a red light in the 200 block of Second Street Southwest, according to Rochester Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis.

Semi crashes into Lyle School 

Minnesota State Patrol officers investigate after a semi crashed into the Lyle Public School this morning. The truck struck the west side of the building after the driver swerved to avoid a car that had stopped on Minnesota Highway 218, according to the State Patrol.

Man convicted of stalking after woman's suicide 

ROCHESTER, Minn. A man originally charged with murder for causing a woman's suicide has been convicted of a lesser felony.

Lost Rochester 

Just like Lake Shady, Stewartville's Lake Florence owed its existence to the building of a mill and dam. The lake was created in 1857, when Charles Stewart, the city's namesake, constructed a dam on the Root River.

Stewartville teenager injured in early morning crash 

Kobi Quick, 19, was northbound on U.S. Highway 52 at about 1:39 a.m. a mile north of Chatfield in Olmsted County when the car she was driving went off the road, hit a culvert and rolled, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol. Quick was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus with non-life threatening conditions, the state patrol reported.

About 80 attend meeting critical of Islam 

An outspoken critic of Islam made his second Rochester area speaking appearance on Sunday, this time at the Rochester Public Library. Usama Dakdok, an Egyptian Coptic Christian who's created his own translation of the Quran and considers himself a "specialist in Islam and evangelism to Muslims," gave a presentation called "Revealing the Truth about ISIS."

It took place along Highway 30 around 7:43 am. The Minnesota State Patrol says 61-year-old Sheri Yvonne Crowley of Hayfield was driving east, went off the road near mile marker 218, and rolled.

The Stewartville-based station which will be known at "K-105," will be a soft rock format, which mixes oldies and contemporary hits. a Mayor Chuck Hazama announced that Rick Lovett of the Rochester Fire Department is the 1993 chairman of Rochesterfest, which will incorporate the celebration of the city's 135th anniversary of incorporation.

Stewartville Man Accused of Molesting 4-year-old Girl Back in MN 

A Stewartville man who allegedly molested a 4-year-old girl is now in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. According to Olmsted County Sheriff Sergeant Kirby Long, authorities have been working to get 24-year-old Majed Ijong back to Minnesota from California for the past 3 weeks.

Jail, probation for man in child porn case 

An area man accused of possessing and sharing child pornography has been sentenced to 45 days in jail and placed on probation. Eric Lowell Saterdalen, 57, of Stewartville, was charged in May in Olmsted County District Court with two counts of disseminating pornographic work and 10 counts of possession of pornographic work, all felonies.
