Man pulled from flaming SUV in Waseca County 

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says deputies were sent Sunday around 7:30 pm to check on the welfare of Rick Daron Lund, 36 of St. Clair. County dispatch had received calls that Lund made statements which caused concern about his wellbeing.

Driver leads south Minn. police on 100 mph chase with baby in back seat 

A man led officers on a car chase from Waseca County west into Blue Earth County at speeds of over 100 miles per hour Friday night, all with a 1-year-old in the back seat, authorities said Saturday. A Janesville officer spotted a 2010 Mercury Milan blazing west at about 112 mph on Waseca County Road 2 at 11 p.m. The driver did not stop when the officer and a Waseca County sheriff's deputy attempted to pull him over, and entered Blue Earth County on County Road 15. The pursuit continued at a slower pace down the main street of St. Clair.

Central track and field squad sends three to Nebraska 

An early opportunity to compete in the heptathlon and pentathlon sent a trio of Central College indoor track and field athletes to the Charlie Foster Pre-Holiday Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Morgan Koenigs was the lone female to enter the pentathlon for the Dutch women while Ryan Kruse and Will Daniels entered the men's heptathlon.
