Community invited to rural internet expansion groundbreaking 

Officials from rural technology co-op provider AcenTek, Fillmore County Economic Development and other local leaders plan to mark the event with a brief presentation at Rushford Village City Hall. According to a release from Community and Economic Development Associates, the Rushford Village/Rural Rushford Fiber Build last mile project will serve currently unserved and underserved populations, affecting more than 500 households, 40 businesses and 2 community anchor institutions in the Rushford Village/Rural Rushford exchange.

Rushford Village approves 2018 levy 

After deliberation and a brief Truth In Taxation hearing that brought no citizen comments, the City of Rushford Village approved the 2018 levy in the amount of $425,000. The amount has remained the same the last three years.

More than $4 million awarded for SE Minn broadband projects 

High-speed internet access will soon be available to an additional 1,195 households and 260 businesses in southeast Minnesota thanks to grant funding. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic development announced this week that $26 million in grants had been awarded to 39 broadband projects statewide.

Faster internet coming to greater Minnesota, with help from the state 

Minnesota communities with limited access to high-speed internet are getting a boost from the state in the form of $26 million in grant funding for broadband projects. Lt. Gov. Tina Smith and other state officials announced Tuesday that 39 projects will get a share of the money set aside this year for the "Border-to-Border Broadband" grant program .
