Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation awards $65,000 in grants... 

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation approved five grants totaling $65,000 to support education and technical support for new or existing entrepreneurs and businesses, and to build resources for creating a sustainable and resilient food economy for southern Minnesota. A total of $45,000 in Economic Development Grants, designed to support new collaborative initiatives for entrepreneurial and business growth, were awarded to three organizations: a $15,000 to the Faribault Diversity Coalition to promote economic growth in downtown Faribault by providing an attractive and functional co-working space for start-up entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking an affordable and client-friendly work environment.

They're celebrating with new national acts and the same old fun. This five-hour musical bash includes local band Alexander Natalie, as well as three national acts - Natalie Stovall, Eric Hutchinson, and The Lone Bellow.

Overnight traffic delays near Eisenhower Bridge in Red Wing 

Equipment being moved in and around the U.S. Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge construction site will cause delays Thursday night and early Friday. The Minnesota Department of Transportation advised that motorists traveling along U.S. Highway 61 near the bridge in Red Wing should expect intermittent delays beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday as crews move equipment from an adjacent bridge.

City officials in St. Louis Park, Warren, Edina, Elk River, Pine City, and Red Wing all worry about local issues like street repairs, taxes, and water services. But they also believe that part of their responsibility to residents is to do their bit to try to save the earth, and maybe bring a little more commerce to town while they do so.

Woman, 2 grandsons ID'd as those killed in crash south of Twin Cities 

Authorities say they will reveal further details Monday about a two-vehicle crash south of the Twin Cities over the weekend that killed a woman and her two grandsons, and left a man in the same car critically injured. The crash occurred about 11:45 a.m. Saturday on County Road 18 near Church Road in Welch Township, according to the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office.

Three killed in Goodhue County Crash 

According to a press release issued by the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office three people were killed in a crash Saturday morning. It happened on County Road 18 in Welch Township, near Red Wing.

Red Wing plans to make statement on immigration policy 

Monday night, the city council instructed the Red Wing Human Rights Commission, whose members were invited to the joint meeting, to develop a resolution that will let state and federal lawmakers know Red Wing does not want children crossing the border illegally separated from their parents. On June 20, President Donald Trump reversed his stance on separating illegal immigrants families at the border, according to the Associated Press.

Red Wing council tackles three big issues, makes one decision 

The Red Wing City Council tackled the big issues Monday night, including one not on the original agenda. Before the agenda for the meeting was set, Council Member Evan Brown asked to add an item that would send a message from the city council to Red Wing's federal lawmakers asking them to set a "zero tolerance policy" to end the practice of separating illegal immigrant families crossing the U.S. border and ensuring those families receive their due process rights.
