Semi driver who hit school has more than a dozen previous traffic citations 

LYLE, Minnesota The man who was driving a semi that crashed into a school Tuesday in Lyle, Minnesota, injuring four, has a track record for speeding. According to Minnesota Courts Online, Jeffrey Kohls had 16 different traffic citations in seven Minnesota counties spanning 2001-2013.

Semi hits car, crashes into Lyle school 

A semi tractor-trailer smashed into the Lyle Public School building this morning in an incident that injured two people, according to Lyle Superintendent Bryan Boysen. The crash forced the evacuation of the building, where smoke and dust could be seen immediately after the crash, Boysen said.

71-Year-Old Woman Killed in Mobile Home Fire 

A release from the Carver County Sheriff's Department said Nancy Lee Green was found dead in the residence, located on the 400 block of Railroad Street East in Norwood Young America. Sheriff's deputies received a report of a fire around 5:54 p.m. Thursday.

A 2001 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Jean M. Schlechter, 60, Norwood-Young America and a 2014 Ford F150 driven by Armando C. Guardado, 35, Glencoe, were both westbound on Highway 212 when the Pontiac was rear-ended by the Ford. Schlechter was transported to Glencoe Regional Health Services with non-life-threatening injuries.

A legislative hearing last week focused on Gov. Mark Dayton's recent executive order on protecting pollinators, specifically a section of the order that requires farmers to prove that they face "imminent danger of significant crop loss" before they can make foliar applications of neonictinoids. MDA is also requesting regulatory authority of treated seeds.
