Goodhue County: Kelly returns as sheriff 

In a race that saw a candidate put on paid leave, then leave his job, Red Wing Police Patrol Sergeant Marty Kelly topped Goodhue County Sheriff's Patrol Commander Paul Gielau to take the vacant Goodhue County Sheriff's position. A complaint filed against Kelly forced the city of Red Wing to place Kelly on paid leave.

Change of season means move for Farmers Market

Lincoln Industries Acquires Manufacturer SourceOne 

Nebraska-based Lincoln Industries has acquired SourceOne, which provides custom manufacturing, design services and tooling, powder coating and specialty machine-build services. Founded in 1974 by Nick Cusick and Elmer Wessell, SourceOne sits adjacent to Lincoln Industries, one of the largest finishing operations in North America.

Burglar takes cash from Pine Island cafe 

Shawna Kranz said it's likely an inside job, and she's got a photo to prove it. "My register takes a picture every time someone logs in, and one of them logged in with a Social Security number," she said.

Pine Island council candidates name priorities 

From young to not-so-young, four candidates for two at-large seats on the Pine Island City Council put forth their positions during a forum Monday night at Pine Island High School. Candidates ranged from incumbent Jerry Vettel, who first served on the city council during the Johnson administration, to Kelly Liebold, who was born during the Clinton administration, and airline pilot Jonathan Pahl to incumbent Jason Johnson, who has worked 20 years for the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office.
