The aftermath of the GMC Acadia involved in a two-vehicle crash at 11:09 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 210 and Cass County Highway 1 in Pillager. West Brainerd Auto towed the vehicle off scene.

Submitted Photo Pequot Lakes eighth-graders had the chance to learn about a variety of careers firsthand when area volunteers from different professions participated in a career panel with the students at Pequot Lakes School. The goal of the Friday, Dec. 15, event was to help prepare youth for life after high school, said Amy Sjoblad, career adviser with Rural MN CEP Inc., who works with both Pequot Lakes and Pillager schools.

Subzero and stranded: Motorists rescued after running out of gas on MN forest road 

Two stranded Brainerd motorists were found after getting lost in the woods amid temperatures roughly 23 below zero early Sunday morning. Pillager Fire Chief Randy Lee said his firefighters were dispatched just after 3 a.m. Sunday to aid the Cass County sheriff's office in locating two stranded motorists who had gotten lost and run out of gas in the Pillsbury State Forest, north of Pillager.
