Snowmobile goes through ice on Lake Roosevelt 

A snowmobiler and sled broke through the ice on Lake Roosevelt at the Highway 6 channel in Outing on Friday, December 21. The rider made it safely to shore but the snowmobile was not as lucky as it sank approximately ten feet below the surface. The Cass County Sheriff's department oversaw the recovery effort on Saturday afternoon.

January - National Blood Donor Month 

National Blood Donor Month: Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by Lakers Lions on Monday, January 8 in Emily 12:30-6:30 p.m. January is the official National Blood Donor Month, and this is a good time to make a New Year's resolution to be a regular blood donor. The Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by the Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes, will be making its first of three blood drive visits to Emily on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018; from 12:30 to 6:30 pm at the Emily City Hall.

PBS visits Crooked Lake Township 

Twin Cities PBS visited Crooked Lake Town Hall in Outing to film the last session of Screen Porch Productions' project, "Our Lives as Art: Celebrating our Collective Stories and History". A crew of three including producer of TPT's "MN Original", Kate McDonald, filmed the last session of a seven week, story writing/ gathering project.

Santa Visits Emily/Outing 

Bre Kinkaid and Carley Lynch were among the nearly 100 children who go the chance to visit with and have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the annual Outing Chamber Breakfast with Santa at Granny's Bar and Grill in Emily on Saturday, Dec. 9th. All the children received a bag full of gifts, and several participated in games and crafts.
