Highway 169 crash injures 2 

Two people in a Kia Rio were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:21 p.m. Friday, May 25, on Highway 169 north of Onamia. The Minnesota State Patrol reported the Kia was heading south on Highway 169 near Shakopee Lake Road when it crossed the center line and collided with a Ford Escape traveling north on the highway in Kathio Township.

Smithsonian exhibit on Native American veterans opens in Mille Lacs 

"Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation's Armed Forces" tells the history of the Native American and Alaska Native men and women who have served in the United States military. Created by the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, the exhibit shares how native people have fought in every major U.S. military encounter from the Revolutionary War to the current conflicts in the Middle East.

Isle motorcyclist receives non-life-threatening injuries from crash 

A motorcyclist eastbound on Highway 27 in Isle Harbor Twp in Mille Lacs County received non-life-threatening injuries after ending up in a ditch. Jesse John Kosloski was riding his 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at about 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, on the highway at 40th Avenue when the 61-year-old from Isle could not negotiate the curve northbound and went off the road.
