Store Manager Marie Christianson said no specific closing date is set, though it will wrap up at least by the end of February. The shop has 11 employees on staff.

Sorry, Donald: Minnesota's Norwegians immigrants fleeing a shithole too 

He'd really like to see more immigrants from Norway, President Trump recently announced to fellow lawmakers, and fewer guys from "shithole countries" like Haiti, El Salvador, and Africa . There's a small problem with his logic.

Pamela Poynter Schwandt, 78 

Pamela Anne Poynter Schwandt died on January 5, 2018, at her home in Northfield, Minnesota. She was 78. The funeral service for her will be at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield on Tuesday, January 16, at 11 a.

The Stewartville-based station which will be known at "K-105," will be a soft rock format, which mixes oldies and contemporary hits. a Mayor Chuck Hazama announced that Rick Lovett of the Rochester Fire Department is the 1993 chairman of Rochesterfest, which will incorporate the celebration of the city's 135th anniversary of incorporation.

Patients Say Rural Minnesota Hospitals Lack Sign-Language Interpreters 

Dozens of complaints have been filed in recent years against Minnesota hospitals by deaf patients and their companions alleging they're not getting interpreter services required by law. Minnesota Public Radio reports that many of the hospitals facing lawsuits are in rural areas of the state where there's a shortage of sign-language interpreters.

Sanford JMC welcomes art pilgrims 

Sanford Jackson Medical Center earlier this year served as the site of an art pilgrimage of sorts. Siblings David Flaten and Mary Flaten Forsberg came to the local medical center seeking out artwork created by their father, accomplished Minnesota artist Arnold Flaten.

Honors Academy gives students look at options 

A recent out-of-state college visit opened Keiry Echeverria's eyes to the possibilities that await her after high school. She and eight other Rogers high school students piled into a school van in November for a 10-hour trip to the Minneapolis area, where they visited and toured Carleton College, Macalester College and St. Olaf College.
