Birding presentation set in New York Mills

Human remains found in New York Mills have been identified 

UPDATE: On Friday May 25th, the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office positively identified the human remains that were found in New York Mills, MN as Lynda Renae Meyer. Police say Meyer was last seen on July 23rd of 2016 when she walked away from a treatment facility in New York Mills and was later reported as a missing person.

NEW YORK MILLS, MN - The family of a woman who grew up in Barnesville says its been notified that remains found in New York Mills earlier this month were those of Lynda Oelrich. Oelrich hadn't been seen by family members since late summer of 2016.

Small town, big mystery: possible human remains uncovered 

A small town in Minnesota has risen to the top of a lot of conversations, after bones were found that appear to be human remains. James Gritz, chief of police in New York Mills, Minn., says around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police received a call from a visitor, who was walking through woods between Centennial 84 Drive and nearby train tracks-who uncovered something unexpected.
