The Regional Report: Randall eliminates police dept.; Walker community center in financial trouble 

First- and second-grade students at Cuyuna Range Elementary School will learn in new environments next school year, the Crosby-Ironton Courier reported. The school board approved a $697,000 construction project, which includes building walls, adding doors, new ceilings, new lights, new carpeting and new technology.

Motley man convicted of assault 

A Morrison County District Court jury found Adam Hageman, 38, Motley, guilty Thursday, May 25, on three felonies: second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Walk for Hope and Peace to hit lakes area May 20-22 

Korean-American photographer Kyong Juhn is going to walk 323 miles from Rochester to Bemidji during the Walk for Hope and Peace, which began May 5, in Rochester and will end Friday, May 25, in Bemidji. This event supports the peace process in Korea and is the distance Juhn's mother walked from Pyongyang, North Korea to Busan, South Korea in 1950 to escape the turmoil of the Korean War.
