Winter Storm Warning for Snow Tonight 

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning  in effect from 10 PM tonight through 10 AM Saturday for portions of Central & Northern Minnesota including Morrison, Mille Lacs, Todd, Douglas, and Kanabec Counties. 3-5" of snow is likely in St. Cloud, but 5-7" is possible in Little Falls, Onamia, and Mora -- and 8+ inches in Brainerd , Alexandria, and Hinckley From the National Weather Service this morning: One round of light snow will push through this morning, but a heavier round will develop tonight across portions of central Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.

Former Pilot publisher Bernie Montg... 

A former Jackson County Pilot publisher is being remembered this week as a community-minded civic leader and a shrewd but generous businessman. Bernie Montgomery, who owned the Pilot from 1969 to 1982, died last Thursday in Austin.

Teen driver missed stop sign in fatal crash near Mora 

Authorities say a teen driver missed a stop sign and caused a crash that killed her and her boyfriend at an intersection in Kanabec County. Eighteen-year-old Alexis Hasser and 16-year-old Gavin Butenhoff were killed Saturday when their car collided with a pickup truck east of Mora.
