Northern Minnesota town's police grooming proposal gets hairy 

SILVER BAY, Minn.-The Silver Bay City Council has approved a motion that would allow members of the city's police department to wear well-groomed facial hair while on duty. Police Chief Doug Frericks was unable to attend the meeting, but approved of the proposal and officers Cole Ernest and Alex McGrath attended to answer any of the council's questions.

Mars Supply announced the promotion of three employees. Amy McGrath has been promoted to Branch Manager for Duluth, Linda Beaver to Director of Human Resources and Brett Uchanski to Field Sales Manager-Northern Region.

MSFA looks into issues with Vikings stadium's envelope 

Executives overseeing the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis are taking a deeper look into how the building's envelope was constructed. In the meantime, a new problem has cropped up: Some of the nearly one-year-old building's escalators have been on the fritz in recent weeks.

MSFA to discuss loose stadium panels 

Repairs to panels at U.S. Bank Stadium are under warranty, so they won't cost the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority anything. The forces of nature continue to create problems for builders and operators of the U.S. Bank Stadium, who have struggled since last spring to keep some of the downtown Minneapolis building's exterior metal panels in place when heavy winds strike.
