Noriega pleads guilty to theft charge 

A Lynd resident and former administrator in the Marshall Public School District pleaded guilty to theft charges this week, court records said. Noriega appeared in Lyon County District Court on Tuesday for a plea hearing, court records said.

Master gardener program 

This week, I have the privilege to sit with area master gardeners and take in some continuing education with the professors at the U of M. This is one of the reasons why I became a master gardener in 1993. Yes, the road has been long to this point but seems short because of all of the people that I have worked with over the years.

SBA Disaster Loans available for area residents, businesses 

A new resource for area residents affected by this summer's flooding and severe storms opened its doors today in Marshall. Staff at the U.S. Small Business Administration outreach center at the MERIT Center said a steady stream of people had been coming in all morning to apply for low-interest disaster loans.

Hwy. 68 construction coming in 2021 

Some new construction is being planned for Minnesota Highway 68 - but this project won't get underway for a couple of years, representatives of the Minnesota Department of Transportation said. The Marshall City Council heard a short overview of the planned road work Tuesday from MnDOT project manager Chris Nienaber and Mark Klema.
