Farmer interest in hemp heating up:Farmers brave winter's worst to... 

Robert Mitchell, founder of The Hemp Connection of Tulsa, Oklahoma, visits with Doug Breberg, Dawson, and Brad Kurtz, of Renville County, during the Frozen Farm Forum held in Madison on Friday. Kurtz holds a 1913 book on Minnesota agriculture that devoted a chapter to hemp production in the state.

Meet the Bird Lady from Lac qui Parle County 

After Mae Nisbit Peterson caught the bug, the Bird Lady of Lac qui Parle banded more than 15,000 birds from 120 species in 27 years, and logged 286 different birds on her "life list." She also leaves behind the legacy of a bird sanctuary at Salt Lake near Marietta, Minn.

Ducks were plentiful, but hunters were few this season around Minnesota 

Weather cooperated this fall during the Minnesota duck season, and some hunters found more birds than they have in recent years. But the number of duck hunters was down.

Warm Weather Continues Thursday - Arctic Blast Next Week? 

While we have had an interesting month temperature-wise across southern Minnesota, with a very cold start only to see much warmer air take over for most of the second half, it has also been quite dry. The Twin Cities has only received 0.39" of liquid through the 28th.
