Lanesboro man found not guilty of assaulting police officer 

A Lanesboro man accused of pulling a gun on a Winona police officer in 2016 was found not guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon Tuesday at the end of a weeklong jury trial. Daryl Scott Jackson, 56, was found guilty in Winona County District Court of the lesser charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and failure to comply with a police officer's command.

City of Fountain Prohibits Raising Chickens in Town 

From metropolitan areas like St. Paul and Minneapolis, to smaller towns like Lanesboro and Chatfield, residents can get permits to raise chickens on their property. The city of Fountain is standing firm on an ordinance that prohibits residents from raising chickens on their own property.

Blue Earth ready to get REVed up 

With the help of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation , the city of Blue Earth is in the beginning stages of jumpstarting the local economy. Along with Lake City, Spring Grove, Le Sueur, Lanesboro and Spring Valley, Blue Earth was chosen by SMIF to participate in the Rural Entrepreneurial Venture, or REV program.

13 years later, 'good dudes' break ground for distillery
