Immigration has a business case in Minnesota - and a faith case 

Minnesota's working-age population is forecast to stay nearly constant in size for the next decade or two, Ellen Wolter of Wilder Research's Minnesota Compass told a dozen mixed-denomination Greater Minnesota Christian clergy last week. By 2024, the state is forecast to be home to 3.4 million people between ages 18 and 64, and to have 3.1 million jobs to fill.

Wachal to lead county board into ne... 

Don Wachal is the new chairman of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners. Wachal, who is in the last year of his first term as county commissioner, was elected board chair at Tuesday's commissioner meeting.

U of M Crops Day Meetings January 11 and 12 

The U of MN Southern Research and Outreach Center's 2018 Winter Crops Days will be held Thursday, Jan. 11 and Friday, Jan. 12, 2018. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at all four locations with the program to begin at 9 a.m. The program on Thursday will follow format of previous years, cost of the event is $35, which will include morning refreshments, lunch and handout materials.

One-vehicle accident in Freeborn County 

The Minnesota State Patrol says Sand was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
