Disagreements Over Kasson Water Tower Sign 

The Water Tower in Kasson is a gem in the community -- so much so that City Council and the Dodge County Historical Society are going to bat over certain details of the sign. The Historical Society wants text with black and gold lettering and font big enough for pedestrians to view.

'Christmas Alive' comes to life this weekend 

The 11th annual Christmas Alive show will have two days of performances from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Held on the Jim Checkel Farm south of Kasson on County Road 9, the story of the birth of Christ will be told throughout a seven-scene, walk-through show, and the actors - all children in first through 12th grade - will join live animals for the event.

Zoning changes approved 

Dodge County commissioners approved the recommendations of the county Planning Commission to rezone an urban expansion district to an urban expansion residential district, at their meeting on Nov. 13. The property in question is about 22 acres in Mantorville Township southwest of Mantorville and northeast of Dodge Center at 22658 617th St. The applicant is G-Cubed and the property owner is Dale Starkson. The property may now be subdivided into residential lots.
