Minnesota won't say when DMV problems will be fixed; senator suggests IT overhaul 

No one would say Thursday, Jan. 4, amid repeated questioning from frustrated state lawmakers, one of whom suggested that the state's entire IT department be dismantled and those who worked on the system be purged from state employment. "Can you give us any idea?" asked Sen. David Senjem, R-Rochester, one of several lawmakers to rephrase the same basic question.

MNLARS under the legislative spotlight Wednesday 

A meeting of the Senate Transportation Finance and Policy Committee has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4 in Room 1200 of the Minnesota Senate Building in St. Paul. The purpose of the hearing will be to continue the committee's oversight of the troubled rollout of the Minnesota Licensing and Registration System .

Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteer Training to be held ata 

The Lamb Shoppe, Hutchinson, is hosting a Big Woods Big Rivers Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteer Training beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6. Master Naturalist volunteers complete a 40-hour hands-on course with expert instructors and fellow learners - studying natural history, environmental interpretation, and conservation stewardship. Final certification comes with the completion of 40 hours of volunteer service.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Kia, Pamela R. Graves, 73, Hutchinson, all wore seat belts. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.

SouthPoint Financial donates to Food Shelves 

SouthPoint Financial Credit Union donated over 150 pounds of food and $774 to local food shelves at the end of November from their Give Thanks drive. SouthPoint members gave non-perishable food and monetary donations during the drive Nov. 13-25.
