Heavy Rains Wash Out Waterfall in Southeastern Minn., Residents Brace for More Rain 

People living in Houston County are trying to recover from flooding and they're preparing for more dangerous conditions this week. The sound of Thompson Creek in Hokah woke Brian Jorstad up in the middle of the night early last Tuesday.

Public input wanted for planned La Crescent school renovations 

The La Crescent-Hokah School District is looking for public input on major plans to improve their elementary school, a referendum for which failed three years ago. The newest addition to their facilities at the elementary school was built 30 years ago and school officials say there are failing systems that need to be replaced.

Think the rain is bad now? Recalling the greatest storm in Minnesota history 

There is a sickly green tinge to the air when a summer thunderstorm passes over the Twin Cities. Last Thursday , as commuters headed home from their jobs, a slapping wind blew away the afternoon sunshine and signaled another gusher was on the way.
