Board hears from Falls High School students, teacher 

Falls High School students Monday expressed their concern about the struggle to obtain a grade-point average that they feel is too high. Students Anna Levine and Megan Nemec, on behalf of the student council, spoke about the 3.95 grade point average required to be honored with the academic excellence award.

'An awful secret': A Minnesota family's struggle to be heard 

Relatives found it odd that sisters Katye Stolp and Kendra Alfords slept in a bedroom closet when staying over at their uncle's home in the late 1980s. Both Stolp and Alfords had awoken to find their uncle standing silently next to the bed during past visits.

Juvenile tied to NBHS shooting threat to enter residential treatment facility 

The 17-year-old North Branch male, arrested for threatening to use a firearm at North Branch High School in February, will be getting treatment in a residential in-patient facility. He must stay away from all North Branch school buildings and grounds, and write an apology to school officials for his conduct.

Fighting back against tick bites 

As turkey hunters prepare to head to the woods next week in Minnesota, they and others spending time outdoors need to take precautions against diseases transmitted by tick bites. The last snowpiles of winter were still melting in Grand Rapids, Minn., six years ago when Craig Engwall tackled some early spring yard work around his house.

Grand Rapids nursing home worker charged with stealing narcotics Saturday, April 7 

Grand Rapids, MN - A Grand Rapids, Minnesota woman is facing felony charges for stealing prescription drugs from residents of a nursing home. The Itasca County Attorney's Office says 38-year-old Bobbi Jo Vandorn was charged Friday with seven counts of theft of a controlled substance.
