Report at 11:24 p.m. Tuesday of caller hearing a loud noise in the basement, stating it sounded like something fell on the 4800 block of Peterson Road. Deputy checked it out and didn't locate anything.

The board passed the resolution 4-3. The district's business manager Tiffany Gustin explained at the meeting the district faces a $1.7 million deficit in its general fund and currently has the lowest tax rate of 10 school districts in the county.

Vehicle leaves road, driver injured 

A 35-year-old Fifty Lakes woman was injured Tuesday when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and drove into the ditch on the 22000 block of Crow Wing County Highway 1 in Emily. Fifty Lakes: Council approves slightly lower tax levy 

The city council passed the general tax levy, which is $370 lower than this year, at its Monday, Dec. 12, council meeting, according to unapproved draft meeting minutes.

Fifty Lakes Council approves 2018 Budget 

The Fifty Lakes City Council unanimously approved the City's 2018 budget at the Council's regular monthly meeting held Tuesday, December 12 at City Hall. Mayor Tim Anick and Council members Jay Weinmann, Jodie Schrupp, Mark Bradley and Linda Steffens attended along with City Clerk and Treasurer Karen Stern and Liquor Store Manager Steve Maeger.
