Fifty Lakes: Council approves lead bartender description 

After discussing the matter at many previous meetings, the Fifty Lakes City Council approved a lead bartender description for Diana Johnson, bartender at 50 Lakes Bar and Bottle Shop, according to unapproved draft meeting minutes. The position's description - which was approved April 10 - includes training new bartenders; performing managerial duties in the absence of the liquor manager; and complying with city, state and federal regulations within the bar and liquor store.

Fifty Lakes City Council looks at Community Center remodel 

The Fifty Lakes City Council discussed remodeling the Community Center during its regular monthly meeting held Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The meeting was attended by Mayor Tim Anick, and Council members Jodie Schrupp, Jay Weinmann, Linda Steffens and Mark Bradley .

Emily City Council 

The Emily City Council approved paying the Minnesota Department of Transportation $62,651.83 when it met for a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Gary Hanson.

Several area fire departments received live burn training over the past few weeks. This real life experience is invaluable for all firefighters no matter their level of experience.

Fifty Lakes City Council 

The Fifty Lakes City Council learned that the municipal bar and liquor store lost money in 2017 for the second year in a row when it met in regular session on March 13 at City Hall. Members present included Mayor Tim Anick and Council members Jodie Schrupp, Jay Weinmann, Linda Steffens and Mark Bradley.
