Investigator finds no bullying by Stillwater school board members 

Two Stillwater school board members didn't create a hostile work environment at the school district but did behave disrespectfully toward an employee, according to an attorney hired by the district to investigate allegations against the pair. A 95-page report, much of which was redacted to conceal the identity of the complainant, offered no recommendations other than to encourage "straightforward, honest and clear communication" among the school board's seven members.

Suspect in drug-related shooting posts bond, released from jail 

A Dalton man, charged with supplying the gun in what police say was a drug-related shooting in Fergus Falls, has been released from jail. 35 year-old Derek Koch met his $250,000 bail requirement by pledging land he owns in Dickey County, North Dakota.

Local law enforcement agencies dodg... 

Local law enforcement agencies appear to have a dodged a bullet - namely, being caught up in an alleged squad-car overcharge scam that is sending shockwaves across the state. Last year, owners of Fergus Falls-based Nelson Auto Center discovered the dealership, which had a contract with the state to supply vehicles for all law enforcement agencies, overcharged agencies across Minnesota by as much as $700,000 over the past five years.

2 injured in I-94 crash in Otter Tail County 

Two people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday after a vehicle side-swiped another on I-94 at Highway 59 near Fergus Falls Township in Otter Tail County. A 1998 Buick Park Avenue driven by 28-year-old Peter John Riske of Reynolds, North Dakota, was westbound on I-94 when it side-swiped a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer that was parked on the shoulder because of a flat tire.

Patients Say Rural Minnesota Hospitals Lack Sign-Language Interpreters 

Dozens of complaints have been filed in recent years against Minnesota hospitals by deaf patients and their companions alleging they're not getting interpreter services required by law. Minnesota Public Radio reports that many of the hospitals facing lawsuits are in rural areas of the state where there's a shortage of sign-language interpreters.

Fergus Falls auto dealership sues Twin Cities TV news station, alleging defamation 

A Fergus Falls auto dealership has filed a defamation suit against a Twin Cities-based TV news station, alleging that KARE 11 published false and misleading statements in stories about a former dealership employee and claims of overcharging law enforcement agencies. The suit filed Thursday, Dec. 28, in U.S. District Court by Nelson Auto Center names KARE 11 as a defendant along with related business entities Multimedia Holdings Corp., a South Carolina corporation with offices in McLean, Va., and Tegna Inc., which also has offices in McLean.
