Faribault Foods, Inc. of Faribault, MN is recalling its 15 ounce S&W White Beans because it contains undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Firehouse buyer in St. Paul defaulted on loan for Faribault brewery 

An entrepreneur who could receive $445,000 in loans and a grant from St. Paul to open a taproom in an old firehouse defaulted on a public loan for a brewery he owns in Faribault, records show. With the help of the city financing, Travis Temke plans to buy the decommissioned Fire Engine House No.

NWS: Tornado Count in Last Week's Storms Now at 16 

The tornado that swept through Morristown and Faribault was the strongest, the NWS said. Winds of 120 to 130 mph destroyed several homes in Morristown and buildings at the Faribault airport.

Aldi, one of the last holdouts for grocery delivery in the Twin Cities, will start it next month 

The major grocery without delivery in the Twin Cities - the fast-growing Aldi chain - is about to add the service. Aldi last year partnered with Instacart, the San Francisco firm that hires personal shoppers to complete and deliver its customers' orders, to handle delivery services from stores in a handful of markets.

Fire hall to be converted to brewery in St. Paul 

Restaurateurs Travis and Justine Temke now just need sign-offs from the mayor's office and a title transfer from the City Council to turn the vacant building at 754 Randolph Ave. into a microbrewery, taproom and banquet hall. The city chose the Temke proposal out of a dozen offers in December 2017 after deciding to sell the building earlier that year.

High Winds, Tornadoes Damage Homes, Businesses in Southern Minnesota 

Several tornadoes struck southern Minnesota as severe storms packing powerful winds and heavy rain left a trail of destruction overnight, the National Weather Service said Friday. The extreme weather late Thursday damaged homes and businesses, and turned a small airport upside down, but didn't appear to leave anyone with physical injuries.

Mayo reopens clinics Monday 

"Due to the collaborative efforts of our employees and a number of outside entities, Mayo Clinic Health System clinics in Cannon Falls, Faribault and Kenyon, along with the Southview Support Center in Owatonna, will be open for business as usual on Monday, Sept 24. We will continue to help support our communities that were affected."

Cleanup continues 

FAIRMONTa S- The Fairmont area continued to clean up Friday following a storm that swept through on Thursday evening, knocking down trees, damaging structures and leaving people without power. Branches and whole trees littered city streets on Thursday night, as high-speed straight line winds blew through.

Thumbs Up: With all the rain and heavy storm activity we've experienced in the last week, it is nice to know that clear, sunny skies are forecast for today, the first day of Autumn. Heavy storms on Thursday turned into tornado activity after it passed by Brown County, hitting the Rice County area in south central Minnesota particularly hard.

Severe storms Thursday generated heavy damage, school closings 

The line of severe storms that passed through the state Thursday evening left many areas without power and strewn with damage from wind and downed trees. Cannon Falls was hit especially hard, with reports from city officials that streets would not be clear by Friday morning.
