Man Arrested After Shots Fired Incident and Standoff in Eveleth 

A 41-year-old man is in custody after a shots fired incident and standoff with law enforcement in Eveleth. According to a statement from Police Chief Tim Koivunen, homeowners reported a possible bullet shot into their residence, which is at 618 Adams Avenue.

Wellstone Action pushes out senator's sons; they push back

House Fire in Eveleth 

A house fire in Eveleth Friday night caused extensive damage to a single family home on the 800 block of Adams Avenue. Northland Fire Wire says the fire was reported around 7:45 tonight and was told on the scene that the fire appears to have initially started in the kitchen of the home.

Cliffs seeks additional ore near Nashwauk 

Cleveland-Cliffs seeks to lease mineral rights from the State of Minnesota near its newly acquired mineral deposits near Nashwauk. A formal request was sent Feb. 1 to the Department of Natural Resources, said Cliffs' President, Chairman and CEO Lourenco Goncalves.
