Central Minnesota farm worker remains in custody while immigration case is pending 

Julio Estrada Escobar, a farm worker in Evansville who fled - illegally - from Guatemala to the United States, will remain in custody while federal officials determine his immigration status. After a review of his case Saturday, Oct. 21, Escobar's wife, Nancy, was informed Monday morning, Oct. 23, that he will remain in jail until his next court appearance.

Julio Estrada Escobar was born and raised in Guatemala. But in 2001, at the age of 18, he fled to the United States - illegally - to find work.
