Chase and arrest in southern MInnesota 

The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office says a deputy tried to stop Sims in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am near the intersection of State Lane Road and Highway 69 in Emmons around 1 am Saturday. Authorities say Sims sped away west and the pursuit continued into Faribault County on County Road 50 and then north onto Highway 22. As the case went through Kiester, the Sheriff's Office says Sims hit stock sticks that had been deployed on Highway 22 just south of County Road 46. After three of the Grand Am's tires were deflated, it came to a stop and Sims was arrested.

With Thanksgiving coming up next week many people are making preparations to travel to see their families and enjoy the holiday. Forest City Resident Alyssa Langfold and her three girls love the holiday and are excited to celebrate their Thanksgiving this year with family in Emmons, Minnesota.

Buena Vista University - Rochester : Rosalind Russell, a senior distributive sustainable development major, will present at the Society of Wetland Scientist - North Central Chapter Annual Meeting, which takes place in Fargo, N.D., Oct. 12-14. Russell was selected to present after submitting an abstract based on information and research gathered during a sustainability internship with Emmons & Olivier Resources, Inc. in Oakdale, Minn.

Pearl Harbor victim from Minnesota has remains returned home 2 hours ago 

Navy Fireman 3rd Class Glaydon I.C. Iverson, 24, died on Dec. 7, 1941, aboard the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
