Pine River: Council addresses complaints 

The Pine River City Council received complaints on two matters ahead of its Monday, Aug. 13, meeting concerning both long-term parking and building inspections. The city has received complaints regarding the long-term parking of Ryan Nelson's yellow fire truck along city side streets.

Crosslaker Meeting Updates Progress on Many Projects 

The Crosslakers group held its third town meeting in three years at Zorbaz on Thursday, August 9. The venue was the same as the previous two meetings but instead of talking about what could happen in the future, the group was reporting to a standing room only crowd on what is happening now as the projects the Crosslakers have backed are one by one becoming a reality. The largest project to come out of the Minnesota Design Team visit of several years ago and carried forward by the Crosslakers is the National Loon Center.
