Waiting for a Mentor: Being there for a new kid in town 

Have you ever been the "new kid"? Although being new to town opens new and exciting possibilities, we also end up having to leave things behind. Carter is a 10-year-old boy starting at a new school this year.

Church News 

Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baxter will be dedicating a Little Free Library at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. This library is located by the bike trail on Jasper Wood Drive.

Jackie Tappe is the new Corportate Controller of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. 

Jackie Tappe, of Pequot Lakes, a certified public accountant with 29 years of experience in finance, joined the staff of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby as corporate controller.

Police Blotter - Sept. 9 

Crosby police: CATS - Officers responded Aug. 30 to a residence on the 900 block of Poplar Street to check on a live trap set for trapping cats after receiving more complaints of several cats roaming in the neighborhood and causing nuisance problems in neighbor's yards. Upon picking up the trap, the officer quickly determined the cat was actually a skunk, which was taken care of the following day by employees of the Public Works Department.

Cuyuna Lakes Crusher another success 

A total of 451 racers participated in the third annual Cuyuna Lakes Crusher on August 20 on the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area trails. The event was sponsored by the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series Race.
