11-Year-Old Girl in Custody After Minnesota School Threat 

An eleven year old girl is in police custody after she made a threat of violence referencing Cloquet Middle School and High School. Late Tuesday night, Cloquet Police were made aware of a social media post containing a violent threat to Cloquet schools.

USG penalized for violating air quality permit 

USG Interiors LLC committed nearly three dozen air quality permit violations at its Cloquet ceiling tile factory, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency said March 7. USG's tile-making process involves combining a variety of raw materials into a slurry that is dried, cut and coated. The process requires an air quality permit that limits nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds and particulate matter.

Cloquet, Minn., girl arrested over social media threats aimed at schools 

An 11-year-old girl from Cloquet, Minn., was arrested Tuesday night after she made violent threats on social media toward the local middle and high school, authorities said. An Airsoft pistol was recovered from the girl's home.

Cloquet Police Respond to School Threat; One Juvenile Arrested 

One juvenile has been arrested after making a 'potential threat of violence' that referenced Cloquet Middle School and High School. Authorities in Cloquet say they were notified of the threat on Tuesday evening.

Documentary of 1918 Minnesota fires to air on PBS 

The documentary will air on PBS North at 4 p.m. Sunday; at 7 p.m. March 14; and 3:30 p.m. March 17. It will air on PBS Explore at 11 a.m. March 17 and at 5:30 p.m. March 18. Words cannot adequately describe the sheer terror and confusion created by flames that killed nearly 500 in northeastern Minnesota and forced thousands of people from their homes. Ten communities were destroyed, and 250,000 acres consumed by the inferno.

Cloquet Alternative Ed Program Named School of the Year 

The Cloquet Area Alternative Education Program was honored by the Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs. That is partly in thanks to a "restorative practices" program they've been using for the past two years.

Michelle Lee Announces Candidacy for 8th Congressional District 

Minnesota's 8th Congressional District added another candidate to the race on Sunday, as Michelle Lee announced her candidacy while in Cloquet. She referenced gun violence following the deadly mass shooting in Florida and also talked about the need for expanding medicare to all people, investing in public education, and creating more sustainable jobs.
