Two dead, two injured in Hibbing house fire 

Two adults are dead and two children suffered life-threatening injuries in an early morning house fire in Hibbing on Tuesday, Dec. 26. The Hibbing Fire Department said it was called to a fire at 212 42nd St. East at 1:37 a.m. While en route to the scene, crews were updated that there was heavy fire on the back of the home and that there were several people trapped inside. Firefighters arrived at 1:46 a.m. to find heavy fire in the house, and said they immediately deployed rescue tactics with a hose crew and rescue crew.

State briefs: Chisholm mine could become mountain bike park 

A $28,900 grant from the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board will help the city of Chisholm design a mountain bike park out of an abandoned mine pit. Officials say the Redhead Mountain Bike Park would draw locals and tourists to the former mining pits just south of Chisholm.
