Loads of work done, more remain 

Some of Chris Frye's most colorful memories of growing up on a farm are linked to an old-fashioned hay loader that came with the farm his father bought in 1963. He remembers riding in a wagon with a pitchfork, behind his dad who was driving a tractor, piling the hay until they had a full load.

They're believers: Vees to salute Diamond in Chatfield show 

The music of Neil Diamond will be performed by Matt Vee and the Killer Vees at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chatfield Center for the Arts, 405 Main St. S. "I Am, He Said" will feature music from Diamond's catalog, including his own hits as well as songs he wrote for other artists: "Cracklin' Rosie," Song Sung Blue," "Sweet Caroline," "Holly Holy," "Cherry, Cherry" and "I'm a Believer." The Vees are made up of sons and friends of the late legendary singer Bobby Vee, along with veteran Minnesota musicians.

Chatfield man facing criminal sexual conduct charges 

Kevin T. Bakken, 43, made his first appearance in Olmsted County District Court Monday morning on charges of felony fourth-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct, gross misdemeanor fifth-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, according to court records. The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office was called to a residence in Orion Township around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
