Listening sessions planned for Border to Border Touring Route 

A series of listening sessions across the northern counties of Minnesota about the Border to Border, or B2B, Touring Route are scheduled for February and March by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Parks and Trails Division, in conjunction with the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council and the Minnesota 4-Wheel Drive Association. The purpose of the listening sessions is to gather feedback on a draft alignment for the B2B Touring Route.

Man dies in fire after home explosion 

A Hines man died in a home explosion and fire early Thursday, Nov. 9, in Hines Township, according to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office received a call at about 3:39 a.m. and neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion and a residence engulfed in flames in the 18200 block of Lookout Tower Road in Hines Township, the release said.

One dead, Two hurt after house being placed on foundation falls 

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office 911 center received an emergency call reporting that three adult males were injured and trapped under a small home that was being moved onto a foundation. Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Kelliher Fire/Rescue, Blackduck Ambulance and North Memorial AirMed responded to the scene, located in the 16000 block of Whipple Lane NE, Kelliher, MN in Shotley Twp.

One dead, two injured when attempting to move Beltrami County home 

A northern Minnesota man was killed Sunday when a small home he was helping to move onto a foundation fell from its supports, trapping him beneath it. Joshua L. O'brien, 25, of Blackduck, died and two others were injured in the accident, which occurred shortly before 11 a.m. outside Kelliher in Shotley Township, about 60 miles north of Bemidji on the south shore of Upper Red Lake.

The Midtown Shopping Area of Crosslake will be the site of a new dental office to be opened by Doctors Robert Uppgaard and William Beasley of the Pequot Lakes Dental Office.
