Wells Fargo Closing 4 Northland Branches 

The bank's Blackduck branch will close on May 16 at noon, and the branches in Eveleth, Silver Bay, and downtown Bemidji will close on July 11 at noon. The branches are among hundreds the bank is closing nationwide this year.

2 Arrested after 100 mph Chase in Bemidji 

Authorities arrested two people Thursday after a high-speed chase ended with a vehicle landing in the Mississippi River near Bemidji. Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin said in a news release that the chase began when an officer tried to pull over a vehicle.

Bemidji stabbing, chase ends in death 

A Bemidji woman was killed late Tuesday after she reportedly stabbed a man and fled in a vehicle which overturned. Traci J. Cloud, 24, was dead at the scene on Highway 89 near Bemidji, said the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

Bemidji woman dies in roll-over crash after assaulting man with a knife 

UPDATE: On Tuesday night, the Beltrami County Sheriff's' Office was called to the 5600 block of Alps Court NW in Eckles Township in Beltrami County after getting a call of a man being assaulted with a knife in a domestic situation. Police say 25-year-old Raymond E. Oliver of Red Lake, MN fled the scene of the assault to a neighbor's house who called 911.

Two die in separate traffic crashes on Minn. roads 

Just after 10 p.m. in Beltrami County in northern Minnesota, a 24-year-old woman who was not wearing a seat belt was thrown to her death when she crashed on Hwy. 89 in Eckles Township.

Fillmore County Selects Preston as Site for Proposed Veterans Home 

On Tuesday, the board voted three to two to build the home in Preston and unanimously approved a resolution supporting the town as the location of southeast Minnesota's first veterans home. Spring Valley was the other option.
