Ashby, Minn., farmers co-op elevator manager fled state 'to get his head clear,' attorney says 

The Dalton, Minn., man accused of stealing nearly $5 million from a small-town grain elevator fled Minnesota earlier this fall and hid out for three months "to get his head clear," his lawyer said Thursday. Minneapolis attorney Thomas Kelly said Jerry Hennessey, the former manager of the Ashby Farmers Cooperative Elevator Co.

Ex-elevator manager ordered not to leave Minnesota Thursday, December 6 

MINNEAPOLIS - The former manager of the Ashby Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Ashby, Minnesota is on electronic monitoring and is under court order not to leave the state. Hennessey is accused of embezzling millions of dollars from the elevator over about 15 years.

Ex-grain elevator manager surrenders 

The former manager of a western Minnesota grain elevator who disappeared after allegedly stealing nearly $5 million is charged in federal court with mail fraud. Jerry Hennessey, 56, of Dalton surrendered and made his initial court appearance Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
