Crow Wing deputy locates missing Georgia man 

A man missing from Georgia was located over the weekend after Crow Wing County sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious person call. The sheriff's office reported at 10:04 a.m. Saturday, July 14, it received a call of a suspicious man walking to a home on Country Lane, north of Brainerd, asking about an air compressor.

Single vehicle crash injures 17-year-old 

A 17-year-old Brainerd teen was injured when the vehicle he was driving went off the roadway at 11:19 p.m. Friday and crashed on Crow Wing County Road 123 and Greenwood Street in Brainerd.

Ideal man dies from felled tree3 min ago 

Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl reported that on Saturday, July 14, at 01:27 p.m., the Crow sheriff's office received a report of a medical involving an injury from a felled tree at a property near Kimble Shores Drive located in Ideal Township.

Manhattan Beach: Council hears no feedback on Northern States Power agreement 

The Manhattan Beach City Council heard no citizen comments during a public hearing about the city's new franchise agreement with Northern States Power at its Tuesday, July 3, council meeting, according to unapproved draft meeting minutes. a Learned from Mayor Paul Allen that the city's recently installed radar signs are not working properly, and he does not know when Crow Wing County will get a chance to look at them.

A motorcyclist suffered non life-threatening injuries after colliding with a pickup truck on Highway 18 in Crow Wing County.

Crow Wing County works to build self-healing community 

Staff members at Crow Wing County Community Services are working with Bridges of Hope to research and build a self-healing community. The idea is to engage the public, inspire innovation, support peer-helping and ease the daily stress of parents to promote change so that together communities can better protect and nurture the next generation.

Spray patching continues this week in Crow Wing County 

Crow Wing County maintenance crews will continue spray-patch operations the week beginning Monday, July 16, on County Highway 36 and County Highway 37 in Crosslake. Crews will also spray patch areas along County Highway 1, from County Highway 15 in Timothy Township to County Highway 3 in Fifty Lakes, from Monday through Thursday.

Bar Buzz: One that didn't get away 

Jean Gustafson, a member and former chair of the MSBA Elder Law Section's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, caught a good-sized dogfish at the committee's retreat on June 24 in Crow Wing County. Also present but not pictured-perhaps not as skilled or lucky with a fishing rod-were Jennifer Wright, Laura Orr and Maya Missaghi.

Debris was scattered throughout the southbound lanes of Highway 371 south of Brainerd following a crash Wednesday, July 11, involving a semitrailer and a passenger car.

Flash Flooding Reported in East-Central Minn. 

According to the National Weather Service, some vehicles were stranded after roughly 4 to 7 inches of rain fell between 4 and 7 a.m. across northeast Mille Lacs and Kanabec counties. Meanwhile, according to the Crow Wing County Highway Department, recent rain caused a washout that forced the closure of County Road 105 between Sullivan Lake and McNeal roads.
